The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Möst extend acclaimed partnership to 2027

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced a new five-year extension of Franz Welser-Möst’s contract as Music Director, continuing a partnership that began in 2002 to 2027.  The announcement was made at Severance Hall in Cleveland at the Gala Concert opening the Orchestra’s 2019-20 season. “I am delighted to announce this extended contract, ensuring The Cleveland Orchestra’s acclaimed partnership with Franz Welser-Möst for an additional five years to 2027,” said Richard K. The Cleveland Orchestra Music Study Groups for the 2019-20 season will begin on September 24, 25, and 26, 2019 at convenient community locations across the Greater Cleveland area. The Cleveland Orchestra extends Vinay Parameswaran’s contract as Assistant Conductor and Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra Music Director through 2020-21 season

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced an extension of Assistant Conductor Vinay Parameswaran’s contracts. The agreement continues Parameswaran’s tenure with the Orchestra for two years through the 2020-21 season. He will continue to hold the Elizabeth Ring and William Gwinn Mather Assistant Conductor Endowed Chair. Musical Instrument Donation Drive to Benefit Cleveland Children Begins on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Severance Hall   CLEVELAND, OH – On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 21, 2019, from 12 – 5 p.m., a group of five Cleveland nonprofit and public organizations will kick off a three month donation drive for gently-used musical instruments.
