Corteo, the latest Cirque du Soleil arena production, has announced a new tour coming to Quicken Loans Arena (1 Center Ct. Cleveland) this Thursday Nov 15 at 7:30 p.m., Friday Nov 16 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday Nov 17 at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Nov 18 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

This unique production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, founder of the Swiss clown troupe Teatro Sunil and director of several shows by Cirque Éloize, Corteo first premiered in Montreal under the Big Top in April 2005. Since then, the show has been a great success and has amazed 8 million people in 64 cities in 19 countries on four continents.

Corteo—an Italian word meaning “cortège” or procession—was a contemporary circus show about a clown who watches his own funeral taking place in a carnival-like atmosphere. It was partly inspired by The Grand Parade: Portrait of the Artist as Clown on display at the National Gallery of Canada.
